¡Hola! My name is Diane Mooshoolzadeh, and I want to welcome you to my blog! Also, I want to thank you for actually taking the time to read it and taking this journey with me. As you can probably tell, I am studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, for the spring semester. I attend Carlos III in Getafe where I am taking Hispanic Studies courses with other American students. I live with my host mom Maru and my friend Nikki in a barrio called Lavapiés, which is located almost smack dab in the center of Madrid. Bottom line: I LOVE MADRID.
A little more about myself - I am from Thousand Oaks, CA, and I currently attend UCSB where I study English Literature and Spanish, when I'm not busy with the organization I'm a part of, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. I place a huge importance on family, and the reason I made this blog was for them, to see how I am and what I am doing halfway around the world. I have been blessed with amazing friends (back home, in UCSB, and here in Madrid), and I hope you guys are getting to read this too :)
As you can see I LOVE to travel and have adventures. If you count all of my different ethnicities, I am Filipino, Assyrian, Russian, with a dash of Spanish. I'm a mutt, and I love it. I love Jesus, and I love worshiping Him by writing stories, songs, and blogs I suppose. I absolutely adore music, and when I'm not playing piano or guitar, you'll probably hear me singing all of the time. No matter what anyone says, my favorite movies are still The Lord of the Rings (I'm a nerd, I know), and I still watch Disney movies. If you didn't notice, I'm a fan of the humanities.
When I'm not doing those things, I like playing any and all sports. I'm actually pretty competitive...hey, I like to win :) For those of you who don't know, the 2 times I've been to the hospital were because I was playing games. I was knocked unconscious playing Capture the Flag senior year, and I broke my toe last year playing Steal the Bacon. Sad? Yes...but we won :)
More about me...I love photography although I know I'm not even close to a professional. I just have a fancy-schmancy camera. I love going all around the U.S. and visiting different states with my parents every summer. It's something I look forward to every year, and I can't wait to celebrate my 21st birthday with them in June!
As you can see from the repetition of the word I LOVE many things. When I step back and look at my life, no matter how many ups and downs I face, I have nothing to complain about.
For some reason, God has blessed me and keeps blessing me...and I am thankful :)
